According to the prospectus of 2024-2025 of NORTH EASTERN HILL UNIVERSITY, here is the fee structure:
PhD in English- 2 years course
- Monthly Tuition fees INR 300
- Total Tuition fees - INR 5, 040 per year
- examination fee- INR 800 per year
- admission fee - INR 800 only one time
- other fee - INR 7690
- total 1st year fee - INR 13,710
- tota 2nd year INR 13,530

Candidates need to pass a master's degree in relevant subjects with at least 55% aggregate (50% aggregate for SC/ ST/ SEBC-NCL/ Differently-Abled/ EWS candidates of Gujarat) to apply for Children's University PhD programme. Graduates of Ashoka university are recruited across diverse profile: business analyst, credit risk analyst, executive assistant, communication and strategy, Project manager, Research analyst, data science, digital marketing, HR, product manager, software developer, and many more. (As you mentioned that you are a student of PhD from History, I believe there are very low chances but you should try and also you can prefer off campus internship program.)
Mostly in colleges placement cell always prefers student from business course or economics. But I'll suggest you to try for placement.
