IIT Roorkee doesn't offer PhD in Design course through CEED. It only offers a MDes in Industrial Design. Admission to the M.Des program will be based on CEED 2026 merit rank. The candidate will have to apply directly to the participating college once results are declared.

Candidates applying for PhD course have to submit a SOP. Under SOP, students need to describe in short their motivation for seeking admission in IIIT Bangalore research programmes. The purpose of SOP is to understand the vision and goals of the students that prompted them to apply for the course. 

For research preparation, students need to describe in a short document how has student emotionally and academically prepared himself for the demanding research programme of IIIT Bangalore.

IIT Bombay conducts the CEED entrance exam for M.Des and PhD courses. So, yes, you can take the CEED 2026 exam if you plan to get admission to the PhD program offered by participating colleges. 

Fill out the CEED 2026 application form before the last date. Applications will open in the first week of October 2025.

If you qualify in the CEED exam, you will have to apply directly to the participaiting institute. The institute may have additional admission rounds or eligibility criteria.

Category wise cutoff marks for Ph.D admission at School of Architecture, CMR University is based on the entrance test scores. For general category candidates, the percentage of marks in the Maste degree is fifty percent and pass in the valid entrance test, namely, UGC-NET, CSIR-NET, GATE etc. For reserved category candidates the requirement is minimum 45% marks in Master degree and valid entrance exam score. Yes, Jadavpur University conducts entrance test for admission to PhD programme. It is a two hour written test conducted for PhD admission. Candidates who have qualified NET/ SET/ GATE are exempted from appearing for the written test. Selected candidates have to further come for the personal interview round.

Candidates need to complete a two-year MA or equivalent degree with at least 55% aggregate or its equivalent Grade B to apply for Jadavpur University PhD programme. A relaxation of 5% is offered in aggregate for candidates belonging to SC/ ST/ OBC-NCL/ Differently-Abled. 

Applicants who have obtained an MA or equivalent degree of less than two two-years duration, must have completed at least a total of five years of UG and PG study to apply for PhD programme.
