No friend, it's not possible. In engineering, if you have a diploma, then you can go for the 2nd year. And in polytechnic, you have to begin with the 1st year.

Your question is somewhat not clear here. Well, I can help you as much I understand from your question. You can get admission in any autonomous or any private engineering college whether you complete you Polytechnic from autonomous or private college. You are eligible to get admission in the second year in any of the private institution or autonomous or private institution. I hope this will clear your doubt.

Polytechnic is an AICTE approved 3 years Diploma course with state technical council authorisation which gives the basic and initial concepts of engineering with so many practical classes along with theory classes. One can apply for B.Tech or BE after that directly into 2nd year by lateral entry and also can change department for few streams. Like for civil they can choose architecture also.
