Yes, an international student who wants to take admission at RMIT needs to submit IELTS score to prove the English language proficiency. The minimum IELTS average score required for undergraduate, postgraduate and higher degree by research programme is 6.5 - 8.0. However, You can also submit scores of TOEFL or PTE or any other tests (as applicable).

In the Times Higher Education rankings, RMIT has been placed at the 301-350th position in 2023. As per U.S. News & World Report, RMIT University rankings for 2023 is #209. The university QS World University ranking has improved from 2022 as then, it was placed at #206 position. The amount of tuition fee that RMIT University deducts in the event of a refusal when applying for undergraduate courses depends on the application status: 
 
  • Application submitted: Deposit minus $5,000
  • After programme commencement up to census date: Refund amount (AUD)
  • After census date: No refund
     
    Other refund amounts include: 
     
    • Late enrolment fee: $220
    • Foundation Studies withdrawal charges: 50% of the first semester tuition fees
    • Visa extension refusal: $500 administration fee

Yes, RMIT University offers a range of scholarships to international students beginning their studies across all the study fields. One such scholarship is Future Leaders Scholarship. This scholarship is offered to students from India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Bhutan, Nepal or Pakistan who will start their Bachelor or Master by Coursework programme at RMIT University. As per this scholarship, a 20% tuition fee reduction for the programme duration shall be outlined in the offer letter.
