The institute gained the status of a state private university, and called the ITM University, Gurgaon, in the Academic Year 2009-10 under Act No. 25/2009 by an Act of Legislature of government. Of Haryana and accorded UGC approval under Section 22 of the UGC Act 1956. ITM University, now The NorthCap University, thus became an unaided, self-financed private University in 2010 duly recognised by UGC under section 2 (f) of the UGC Act of 1956, and the Bar Council of India and has the right to confer degrees under Section 22 (1) of the UGC Act, 1956. The university has been included by UGC and BCI in their select list of approved universities.

The University imparts education in undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in engineering, management, sciences, and law. It is recognized by various government and regulatory bodies for teaching and awarding degrees. The University is approved by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and recognized by the Bar Council of India (BCI). The University is a member of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU). Aside from being a Member of the American Society for Quality (I) Pvt Ltd, it is accredited by Accreditation Services for International Colleges (ASIC), UK.

It is good to know that you are going for E-PGDM after obtaining M.Tech degree. Now, your 'long Experience in teaching' will help you or not will depends on what career opportunities you are seeking after your PGDM. For example, M.Tech + PGDM in HR will opens the door HR Analytics, Senior Manager in HR at major Tech or IT companies like Adobe or Microsoft etc.
These companies requires tech and business background candidature. However, I do not think that your teaching experience would be helpful in this case. On the other hand, if after completing your PGDM, you want to rejoin the university (as administrator, Associate Dean, chancellor etc.), that would be better and relevant option for you. One more suggestion, if you want to do your Masters, you may try some other field of business like Banking & Finance, Business Analytics etc. To get wider opportunities in corporate sector.
