Yes, students can apply for a BDes course while waiting for their class 12th results. They can appear for entrance exams like CUET or UCEED. Enrollment will happen on provisional basis, which means it is on the condition that they pass class 12th with the college desired percentage and all required conditions. Students are required to provide a passing certificate after the results are out.

A design portfolio is basically the collection of your best creative work. The projects you've worked on are included in this. It shows your creativity, the ability to think outside the box, your creative process, etc.
You can make a design portfolio by putting your school projects, personal creative projects, or other crafts in one place. It can be sketches, photography, digital art, UI/UX designs, etc.

Yes, different colleges and universities have different age limits.
The National Institute of Design (NID) requires general category applicants to be under 20 or 21 years of age as of the academic year's cutoff date.
National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) requires the upper age limit of 24 years for the general category.
Lastly, IITs (Delhi, Bombay and Guwahati) don't specifically have an age limit. But students are required to pass class 12th within the last two consecutive years.

BDesign courses are for everyone. People from any academic background can apply. Admission for almost all Bdes specialisation is based on entrance exams. But some courses like few of IIT's BDes specializations, that rely heavily on technology, prefer a Science background.
