The events at GIBS, the flagship events (such as the IRE Conference, startup competitions, and network evenings), play a fundamental role in providing the opportunity to form relationships with industry leaders through practical and personal means. Those who attend will have the opportunity to hear about the experience that the CEO, founder, investor, senior manager has experienced; to hear about current trends in the industry; and to receive tips for their career—this is very different from reading about them in a textbook and is invaluable to students' education. At startup competitions, students can pitch their ideas and receive real-time feedback from industry professionals; these experiences provide students an understanding of how real businesses are assessed of value. Networking evenings give students access to professionals in an informal environment where they can interact with them on a one-on-one basis, ask them questions, and potentially exchange contact information and explore possible internship opportunities. Through regular attendance at these events, the students develop confidence and communication skills and create strong professional contacts. Many students have developed new contacts which lead to mentorship opportunities, project work, or job interviews through attendance at these events. Overall, these flagship programs ensure that our students gain exposure and develop relationships with professionals through their attendance at many of these events, allowing them to be prepared for the industry and develop connections before they graduate .

When an international student wants to join GIBS, the admissions team guides them step by step. They help with understanding the admission process, required documents, and eligibility so the student knows what to prepare. The team also gives information about visa requirements, fees, and important dates, making it easier for students from other countries to plan ahead.

GIBS provides support in communication too, so if a student has questions or needs help filling out forms, the staff is available to explain things clearly. Once the student is admitted, GIBS helps with orientation, settling into the campus, and accommodation, so international students can adjust well to college life in Bangalore.

The GIBS Faculty incorporates significant industry relevance in the classroom by utilizing real business experience with academic theory. Most faculty members have worked in corporate or consultancy roles prior to joining GIBS, allowing them to frequently use current business examples (both live and case studies), current business practices, and demonstrate industry trends in class. Classes typically have a combination of simulations, role play, live-case projects, and corporate assignments from real-world businesses. Additionally, the Faculty has a regular practice of hosting guest speakers from industry, alumni, and/or CXO's to provide students with an understanding of the practical challenges of working in a business environment beyond their textbook studies. Faculty also work closely with their students through mentoring, providing guidance for work experience, and providing project feedback to ensure all students are prepared for new jobs and can successfully apply their classroom knowledge to real-world business situations upon graduation.
