GIBS' new Mind Valley Campus is settled on a land of 10 acres situated on Bannerghatta Road, Bengaluru. GIBS Business School does its placement processing in a systematic manner by training students long before the placement season kicks in. Instead of only focusing on their final placements, the school includes career advancement, skill building, internships and corporate interaction throughout the PGDM programme. From my experience at GIBS, practical learning was a regular part of college, not something we did only at the end of the semester.

• We worked on live projects, case studies and team assignments.

• IRE activities gave us chances to take an idea and actually work on it.

• Industry visits helped us see how things work outside the classroom.

• We had sessions with industry professionals and subject matter experts.

• Presentations, role-plays and group discussions were also part of regular learning.

• A lot of times, we had to explain or present what we had learned, which made us understand the topic better.

• So for me, GIBS was more about learning something and then actually trying it out, rather than just studying it for exams.

I can speak from my own experience at GIBS Bangalore. For me, the difference was that college life was not just about classes, exams and assignments.

• We had IRE activities where we could work on our own ideas and actually put some thought into them.

GIBS Admission Process

• Submission of Application

You will need to fill out the form online and provide your personal, academic, and contact details.

• Documents Upload

10th and 12th class mark sheet.
Graduation mark sheets for MBA/PGDM candidates.
Entrance exam score such as CAT, MAT, XAT, CMAT, ATMA, GMAT, NMAT, or State CET must be provided.
Photographs.
Any other necessary documents required by the admissions office.

• Application Review

The admission team would look through your academic report, entrance exam results, and other required documents necessary for the admissions process.

• Personal Interview (PI)

Candidates who are considered worth a second look may be called in for an interview.

• Admission Offer

Candidates may receive an offer based on the overall performance in the process.

Fee Payment and Seat Confirmation

You can pay the admission fee within the allowed time period for confirming your presence.

• Qualification

BBA: Completing Class 12 (or equivalent) from an authorized board.
MBA/PGDM: Holding a Bachelor's degree with the minimum required marks from a recognised institution/institute. Lastly, final-year students can also apply as per the rules of the institute.

I can relate to this because I was also not very outgoing when I joined GIBS. The good thing is that you slowly get opportunities to speak and interact through presentations, group activities, events and industry sessions. CPMP also helped me improve my communication, confidence and interview skills.

 And if marketing is not your area, there are other areas you can explore during the PGDM. From my experience, the regular activities and placement preparation helped me become much more comfortable while facing interviews. So even if you are an introvert, you get a lot of chances to work on yourself and become more confident before placements.
