For the first time in India, a separate agency called NTA has been entrusted to conduct JEE Mains on behalf of the government. NTA has decided to conduct this exam twice a year. This is to enable students who are seeking admission to give a better perspective and also to give one more chance if by some fluke they are not able to appear for the single exam. Some students can even appear for both the exam and in this case the better of the two will be picked up for final merit list. NTA will sift through both the examination results and declare a single cut off list for admissions to NIT or enabling students to appear for JEE Advanced.
