Your analysis is on target. You have scored quite well without any coaching and I am sure with coaching your rank would improve substantially. It's therefore a good decision to take break for one year for concentrated studies.

So, it is better if you try for other colleges that accept both JEE Mains scores and board exam marks for admission.
If you want, you can apply for counselling through www.josaa.nic.in for admission into NITs ,IIITs, and GFTIs. You might get NIT-Sikkim, Agartala, etc.
This counselling will be available after JEE Advanced exam gets over.
