Devoting one full year for competitive exam preparation has its own merits and demerits. Dropping a year means that you will get sufficient amount of time to prepare for competitive exams. Instead of searching for colleges i would advice u to put more focus on jee advance and study hard for it as its a golden chance for u to enter an IIT.

U may not get a good govt college try for some private colleges. If u are SC, ST or OBC then start working hard for JEE advance.

For calculating rank u should have an idea about your boards % and with ur jee mains score u can check it. U can check it on career 360.
