Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS). Its affiliated to University of Pune. The Institute is recognised as a Deemed University, primarily funded by the University Grants Commission (UGC). Subjects usually studied under this degree are Classical Sociological Theory, Understanding Contemporary Indian Society, Perspectives on Indian Society, Classical Perspectives on Cultural Anthropology, Methodologies of Social Research etc.

Hello Gautami,
MA done from IGNOU is of course enough to make you eligible for pursuing your ambition of doing doctorate. Normally speaking one should get 50% in MA. To be eligible but in addition entrance exam needs to be passed also. IGNOU also offers Ph.D. You can think of doing it.

It's indeed heartening to know your interest in pursuing a career in linguistics. But you have not mentioned your intended university.
Entrance exam papers for previous years are invariably available with coaching classes for this exam. They will have ideal answers too. If you are serious in this, then my advice would be to join one of the coaching classes.
