Yes, your Masters should definitely earn you some points with the admissions department in Leibniz University, as you have already completed your Masters in a discipline. However, other aspects of your application like your undergraduate field of study should be strong as well. Top universities take into account your work experience, college where you graduated from, etc.

In Canada you have two degrees: M.Eng which is course/ project based and the other one is M.Sc/MS which is thesis based program. If you are interested in research then go for M.Sc/MS.

Most of the entrance exams are held on All India basis and so the competition level is very high. Candidates should start their preparations at an early stage itself. You should refer to as many study materials as possible. It will be more beneficial if you practice previous year question papers. Individuals can also attend entrance coaching classes which will be beneficial to them.

Most universities require your passing degree or provisional certificate to gain admission in M.Sc. which means that you have to clear all backlogs before you can qualify for admission in M.Sc. However, under special circumstances a few universities do grant admission into their M.Sc course provided all backlogs are cleared on time.
