No, the Department of Home Affairs of Australia does not accept any at-home or online test for immigration to the country. The Department only recognises at-centre tests for all visa applications.

Generally, the PTE scores remain valid only for 2 years. However, only in the case of Australian PR, the scores may remain valid for 3 years. Candidates are advised to check the conditions before applying.

The latest advancements in the PTE Academic exam for the year 2025 are given below:
- The PTE exam fee was increased by INR 1000 in 2025 for Indian students. The PTE exam fee, which was INR 17,000 in 2024, has increased to INR 18,000 in 2025.
- The higher education institutes in the Netherlands started accepting the PTE exam for international applications from 2025.
- Double Checking by Human Experts: In the PTE exam, the scores received upon automated scoring for two of the PTE Speaking section questions, i.e. PTE Describe Image and Retell Lecture will now be double-checked by the human experts. However, this does not imply any chan

To improve your PTE scores, you must:
- Practice speaking with diverse speaking tasks.
- Expand your vocabulary with academic language terms.
- Ensure proper pronunciation and fluency.
- Take more and more mock tests to get rid of the exam day anxiety, if you have one.
- Speak naturally at a normal pace while also maintaining proper punctuation and intonation.
- Avoid Repetitions or start seaking with learnt paragraphs for building up upon the subject.

The PTE Academic exam comprises three sections:
- Speaking and Writing: 54–67 minutes
- Reading: 29–30 minutes
- Listening: 30–43 minutes
Hence, the Speaking & Writing section of the PTE exam is the longest.
