The University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) considers a score of 85 on the TOEFL exam to be good for admission, exempting the applicant from the UTSA English Language Assessment Program (ELAP). It's important to remember that UTSA requires a minimum TOEFL score of 79, with a recommended score of 21 for each part. You might still be given consideration for admission if your TOEFL score is less than 79, but you might have to take part in UTSA's English Language Assessment Program (ELAP) before registering.

As per the English language criteria mentioned on the UTM website, having a TOEFL score of 85 is not enough for admission to Universiti teknologi Malaysia. The minimum required TOEFL score is 95 for both undergraduate and postgraduate programs. However, it's important to note that the needed score can vary based on the programme and level of study. For instance, the required score for the Teaching English As A Second Language (TESL) programme is lower, set at 79 for TOEFL iBT. Therefore, it is advisable to check the specific English language requirements for the programme you are interested in before applying to UTM.
