Madras University IDE does not offer any special discounts or packages for parents during the admission season. Admissions can be done very easily and is available online as well as offline. However, the college is always ready to guide students and parents during the admission process.

The University of Madras founded the Institute of Distance Education, University of Madras in 1981. Currently the college is offering undergraduate, graduate, certificate, and Diploma programmes in a variety of specialisations. Information Technology (IT), Business, Management, Science, and the Arts are just a few of the subjects in which courses are offered by IDE. Furthermore, IDE runs a placement cell that offers students internships, placements, and training.
