This is an ideal time to prepare for MIT or any other top ranking university. You can take the SAT or ACT during 11th and reattempt if required. Note you don't have to take both SAT and ACT but just one of them. Incase you take SAT, SAT subject tests are also required. Now, to build your profile take part in sports, voluntary work, high level project work, seminars etc. If you are interested in computers try to design something. In short show your intellect and innovative skills. But don't limit yourself to academic activities since they need all-rounders.
Good luck.

Every university in US has a different entry requirements and different levels of selectivity. A top ranking university might also accept you if your overall profile is outstanding and you have an excellent GRE score. You must focus on preparing a good application package, check university websites for admission requirements and prepare accordingly. Check QS ranking for the university ranks and check universities below rank 30.

You can apply but a very good GRE score of around 315 and above is necessary to get admission in a good university. It is best you begin research on the university admission requirements, check the GRE and TOEFL requirements and prepare accordingly.

There is no specific answer to this because MIT looks for students who can contribute to the university and the society as a whole. You must not only be an academically bright student you must also have high values, display ethics and passion to contribute to the society. Extracurricular activities, project work, sports, arts, voluntary work are very important. Just remember this - You need not be a bookworm but you are required to be an all-rounder and demonstrate your extraordinary side to the university. Ask yourself why they should admit you and prepare yourself accordingly. Read this carefully:
