Founded in 1983, it is the first and the oldest private engineering institute affiliated with the University of Mumbai. TSEC was founded by the Hyderabad (Sind) National Collegiate Board (HSNC Board) in the year 1983. It is named after one of Mumbai's most respected philanthropists, Dada Kishinchand T. Shahani's father, Thadomal Shahani. In the NIRF Engineering Rankings 2021, the college has been ranked in the rank band of 251-300. TSEC has also achieved the highest number of placements offered for the CSE branch candidates in the year 2021 with a placement rate of 86.96%, and the average salary offered to the students at TSEC stood at INR 10 LPA. B.tech in Dairy Technology is a 4-year undergraduate course that deals with the study of all the aspects of the processing and manufacture of dairy products. Bachelors of Technology in Dairy Technology Engineering (B.Tech in Dairy Technology) also focuses on new methods that are discovered to manufacture different milk by-products such as cheese, ice cream, etc., using scientific technology and engineering machinery and tools.
Eligibility Criteria: Candidates having an aggregate of 50 percent in 10+2 or equivalent from a recognized board can apply for B Tech in dairy technology engineering.
The minimum age limit to apply for this BTech course is 17 years at the time of registration.
Future Scope: A dairy technologist is to manage milk production, storage of milk, transportation and packing of dairy products, animal husbandry, cattle rearing, chemistry, nutrition science, marketing, management, dairy unit operations, etc.

The eligibility and admission criteria of YCCE Nagpur for B.Tech are given below. Eligibility : Passed HSC or its equivalent examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the Chemistry or Biotechnology or Biology or Technical Vocational subjects or Computer Science or Information Technology or Informatics Practices or Agriculture or Engineering Graphics or Business Studies, and obtained at least 45% marks (at least 40% marks, in case of Backward class categories, Economically Weaker Section and Persons with Disability candidates belonging to Maharashtra State only) in the above subjects taken together.
