There are plenty of good Engineering colleges in Maharashtra. However, you can seek admission in government colleges only if you are domicile of Maharashtra. Private aided colleges have about 15% quota for All India Quota against which you can apply. You need to appear for entrance exam conducted by unaided colleges separately. Best wishes to you.

It is indeed great to hear from you, such an interesting query. IIT's are definitely in a different league altogether. They get cream of students and as a result different companies flock to them for recruitment. In the next rung are many institutions. Colleges with NAAC A grading cones next. You have not mentioned as to during which year of Engineering you left college. If you have passed 1st year and then left, then perhaps you still have chance. You need to approach your college and seek procedure to continue from where you left. If you can give satisfactory explanation as to why you left and convince management, I feel you will be able to continue your studies from where you discontinued. Best wishes to you.
