Hello Naveenkumar,
Each institute is authorised for certain intake in each branch by AICTE. No institute can admit students beyond this. Hence lateral entry directly into second year is not guaranteed guaranteed by SRM & its not announced publicly also. I am attaching a link where you can see it.

As per the ranking SRM University, Chennai Campus is better than KIIT in terms of placement, infrastructure and other criteria. So go for SRM, Chennai campus. All the best.

Both the degrees are totally different from each other. If you have studied Science and Maths in your class 12th, then you can go for B.Tech. In B.Tech, CSE students are exposed to: Grid and Cloud Computing, Databases and Information Systems, Computer Architecture, programme Methodology and Algorithms Design, Software Engineering, System Programming, Intelligent Systems, Networking and Security. Both are good. It depends on your area of interest. If you want to do job in MNC, then go with IT.
If you want do job government sector, then go for EEE.
