a year agoYou will be given a score from 1 to 9 for each part of the test – Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking. The average produces your overall band score. You can score whole (e.g., 5.0, 6.0, 7.0) or half (e.g., 5.5, 6.5, 7.5) bands in each part of the test . The IELTS score is calculated by averaging the scores from the four sections: Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking.Each correct answer is awarded 1 mark. Scores out of 40 are converted to the IELTS 9-band scale. Scores are reported in whole and half bands.

As per the brochure of QUB, the minimum scores required in IELTS as well as other test scores are given below:
- IELTS: 6.5
- TOEFL iBT: 90
For admission to PG courses, the university normally accepts 70% in English language in Class 12 in the place of IELTS test. On the other hand, for admission to most of the UG programs, the university normally also accepts 70% in the English language in Class 12 in place of IELTS.
