CSE at DTU of course. DTU has a strong establishment. These new IITs don't compare with the likes of DTU, NSIT, old NITs, BITS Pilani, IIITH, etc. If you just want to go for the IIT tag then its your choice. But wise decision will be to go for above mentioned institutions. Going for newer IITs just for the sake of brand name is like buying Iphone 4 just for the sake of apple tag when you could have bought much advanced and better phone at the same price.

IIT Kanpur, IIT Delhi and IIT Roorkee are old and best institutes but as per the present rankings IIT Delhi holds a good position and it provides better placements.

Apologies for the late reply! My preference will be: IIT-D &get; IIM-A or IIM-N. The reason being IIT-D is already a well-established brand and placements would not be a big issue there unlike these baby IIMs. I agree one cannot ignore the IIM tag, but there is still lot of time before these IIMs establish themselves properly(it's been only 2 years since their existence). You may contact the current students and alumni for more insights.

See, EP is a branch intended for those students with an inclination for physics and who plan to pursue it further by going for higher studies. B.Tech in EP has no value when it comes to core job opportunities right after college because there aren't any core jobs for EP undergraduates.
Among all IIT's, IITD is best for electrical engineering. They have the best faculty who have published some really good books in their subject which are now standardized for that course. Other than that they have the best research and placements are just amazing. Power and automation has a really good scope in near future which is expected to grow expone

The admission in any of the IITs is strictly based on the rank secured in JEE advanced examination. If your rank is good, then you can get mechanical engineering at IIT Delhi. If you have not given the JEE Mains and Advanced then you cannot get admission.

The exact numbers are never revealed. But it has to be the lowest among all other branches. Most of the students don't go for core jobs, and most of the students go for higher studies. Remaining students go for consultancy, analyst or coding profiles.
