Its difficult to get admission in both the colleges with this rank but you may go for some private universities instead which have same curriculum and placements pattern as these universities like Chitkara, CU etc.

Do not worry you have got a good score

NIT seems difficult with this rank, but there are some of the good private universities where your son can get nice branch of study with his rank like Chitkara University etc.

To get into IITs you should get through JEE Advanced. With your given percentile I wish you would get into any IIITs.

Sorry to say it is impossible to get IITs or NITs with this rank even with OBC category. But with your OBC rank you can get many other good colleges. Try to grab the best among them. Wish you luck.

NIT Warangal, NIT Trichy and NIT Calicut are the options for this rank. 28800 is a good rank for getting into NIT. You can also look for Tier-1 campuses. In addition, the expected verticals for this rank are mechanical, civil and CS.
