At Dr BR Ambedkar University, the PhD admissions generally happen twice every year. But, the seats available for PhD in each school may vary.

Candidates with a valid score in the following exams: UGC NET/ CSIR NET/ JEST (or) GATE are eligible for the PhD at  the Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology. Candidates must apply through the institute's official website. IIST offers PhD in regular, sponsored, and anytime mode. Specialisations covered under PhD are Aerospace engineering, Avionics, earth & Space Science, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Humanitites. 

The Institution of Clinical Research India, Dehradun offers PhD in four specialisations. Candidates seeking admission to this programme must have a master’s degree in the subjects concerned. The course duration of PhD is atleast 5 years.

Selection Criteria: Admission to PhD will be based on the scores attained in the entrance exam conducted by the university.

PhD is offered across 10 specialisations under its Centre for Interdisciplinary Biomedical Research by the Adesh University. PhD is offered in both full-time and part-time modes. The minimum duration of the PhD programme is two and a half years and can be extended up to five years. Rajasthan University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences Bikaner offers PhD programme in six specialisations to candidates who aspire to study research in the disciplines of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry. The minimum course duration of the programme is three years.

Selection criteria: Final admission is based on the scores obtained in PPEE conducted by RAJUVAS, followed by a PI round. The following categories are exempted from appearing for PPEE:

• ICAR nominee seats
• SRF of ICAR/foreign nationals sponsored by ICAR/GOI qualified candidates
• Candidates of the members in-service at RAJUVAS

Admission to PhD at Mansarovar Global University is entrance exam-based. The university conducts a written entrance exam for the candidates seeking admission to PhD. Applicants with a valid score in UGC NET/ GATE need not appear for the entrance exam.

SRM IST Kattankulathur PhD course admission is entrance-based. Aspirants who meet the eligibility criteria are further required to appear for the departmental entrance examination followed by an interview round. To apply for the examination, aspirants need to visit the SRM Chennai official website to register and fill out the application form. 

After the selection rounds, a selection list is published by the deemed-to-be-university. These candidates have to further do the provisional registration. After which, candidates need to pay the tuition fee on or before the prescribed deadline to confirm their seat.

Candidates seeking PhD admission are required to appear for an entrance test conducted by SRM IST. This test is conducted via CBT mode. This test is followed by a presentation and PI round conducted by the related department. However, those who have qualified for UGC NET (including JRF)/CSIR NET (including JRF)/SLET/GATE or teacher fellowship holders are exempted from writing the deemed university-level entrance exam for admission.

There will be two rounds of counselling in UPCATET exam for PhD course. The first counselling will be done in online mode while the second round of counselling will be done in offline mode. The exact dates of offline counselling does not release in the official notification only the dates of online counselling schedule is released in notification.
