The University conducts its own entrance test for admission to PhD programme. Any candidate, who has done master’s in the relevant discipline of law, can apply for the same. The final selection of students will be based on the entrance test scores and the performance in PI. Eligibility criteria for the PhD programme is given below:

NLIU Bhopal offers a PhD programme in three different disciplines of Law. PhD is offered with a minimum course duration of two to three years and a maximum of six. The University conducts its own entrance test for admission to PhD programme. Any candidate, who has done master’s in the relevant discipline, can apply for the same. Below mentioned are the PhD specialisations offered at NLIU Bhopal: 

1. PhD in Law.
2. PhD (Inter-Disciplinary)
3. PhD in Cyber Law and Information Security.

It is mandatory to submit a letter of recommendation. For students, the recommendations are usually accepted by faculty members from the last attended institute. In addition, for working professionals, a superior of candidate can write a recommendation letter. It could be someone, who can elaborate on the candidate's research capabilities. The recommendation letter must be submitted on time along with the application for selection.  

The Doctoral Programme in Management is offered in the following specialisations:

IIM Calcutta gives each of the student a stipend starting at INR 30,000 per month, which goes up to INR 35,000. Each of the student can avail of the student development grants of up to INR 65,000 for the first-year of course, and up to INR 25,000 for subsequent years. Moreover, the stipend and grants are facilitated for four years. However, it can be extended up to one or more years based on demonstration of enough progress in dissertation work. The Central University of Tamil Nadu accepts the entrance exam CUET - PG . For seeking admissions in PG couse you must be graduate with 50% marks, also in post graduation or master's you must be scoring atleast 50%. You should be scoring good marks in CUET-PG exam to get into CUET. This is a basic entrance exam conducted by central government for central university. 

Candidates, to be eligible, must write GATE exam. However, for final selection, the institute conductes a college-level entrance and also conducts a Personal Interview round to shortlist students. In addition to this, candidates must have also completed their master's degree in Engineering/ Technology along with a bachelor’s degree in Engineering/ Technology with 60% aggregate. 

NIT Puducherry PhD admission is done basis UGC NET/Gate score followed by written test and interview. The institute offers a Full-time as well as a Part-time PhD programme.
