Without a mechanical engineering degree you cannot pursue automobile engineering. More so you have a work experience in S/w engineering making your profile unsuitable for further studies related to mechanical sciences. But check for MS in Computer-aided Analysis and Design. RWTH Aachen the leading university in Germany offers a Master's program in Computer Aided Conception and Production in Mechanical Engineering program but they also prefer students with related degrees. Please check with them directly. Check similar programs in India as well.

All the engineering branches will be for a total period of 4 years. Only for an integrated M.Tech program, you will be spending 5 years.
So, if you opt for an automobile engineering, you will be doing it for 4 years.
