Hello dear,
As you want to take admission in NIT, let me tell you for a good NIT, you must score above 99 percentile so that you can stand safely for getting a good NIT with core branches. However, at minimum, you should score 90 percentile to keep you hope alive with core branches in good NIT.

Congratulations dear for securing such a nice percentile. Surely you will get NIT however college and branch will be confirmed after AIR which is going to publish tomorrow 30 April. After that, you can check different cut-offs of colleges. You can also predict -

Hello Prakhar Verna,
Firstly, I would like to know as to from where you have got the information about your rank. NTA is yet to declare rank and hence we can compare only percentile at present. But why are you worrying? You percentile of 96.2 is excellent.
Best wishes to you.

Hello Jithin Sabu, From this year onwards NTA has decided to declare results based on percentile and not on raw marks. Hence it's tough to guess colleges based on your marks. However to help you I am attaching a link that will predict college for you based on your percentile. https://www.shiksha.com/b-tech/resources/jee-mains-college-predictor
Best wishes to you.

Hello Rohit Kumar, It's indeed very futile to make conjectures about percentiles based on the marks scored. Even though process to convert marks into percentile is very simple, it can be done presently only by NTA since it only has the information required for calculating it. I would like to advise you that please wait for few days as NTA is expected to announce results in few days. Best wishes to you.

Admission is through counselling based on rank in JEE Mains. Admissions is based on score obtained in SAT through DASA scheme for Foreign Nationals/Persons of Indian Origin/ Non-Resident Indians/Overseas Citizen candidates. Please wait for the ranking charts to be displayed.

Hi,
You can get NIT College with this rank but the stream you won't get CSE, IT, etc. Other government colleges which you can get is UIET (Panjab University) etc. with this rank. Good luck.
