Hope you are doing well. I suggest you not to drop for an year because you have less marks in JEE and you will again start form scratch to get an IIT. Drop will waste your 1 year and the competition will be higher in upcoming years. Go for some good private college with your favourite branch and do well there. All the best.

Hope you are doing well. It depends on which state you belongs to but you can definitely get any government college with this rank of JEE Mains with your favourite branch. Go for state level counselling and fill all the government colleges with civil branch on priority. You will definitely get one. All the best.
