I think it is not dependent on your rank. It depends on your score of JEE Mains. As you got 42000 rank, so you got almost 80 to 100 marks. But with these marks, you cannot get CSE in general category. If you are an SC or ST category student, then you have a chance. But you can try for other lower rank courses here. So good luck for your future.

In my view, if you are from general category, then your board marks are not much which can cause some problem to take admission here. Your marks are good according to your category since the cutoff is 45 only. Now talking about your chances of getting the seat, they are less as the margin between the marks and cutoff marks is low. You might get the seat in any NIT but I am not sure exactly in which you will get admission. I am sharing the link please check it:
