The technology institute admits candidates to PhD courseson merit and respective entrance exam scores. The accepted entrance exams are GATE/ UGC NET/CSIR NET. Candidates shortlisted based on exam scores are then invited for the interview round for final selections. Moreover, for some of the PhD courses, candidates are selected based on performance in the last qualifying examination.  Admission to PhD at IIFT Kolkata is a two-stage process. Both of these are mentioned below:

  • Stage I: All the eligible candidates are called for an MCQ-based written entrance test comprising of basic statistics, logical reasoning, data interpretation, basic mathematics (up to Class 12) and verbal ability
