Students can take both the PTE Academic and PTE Academic UKVI to study in the UK. Both these tests are identical in the test content and scoring.
However, the PTE Academic test scores are required if you wish to pursue an undergraduate/postgraduate degree or higher in the UK. To study a below degree level course (for example, foundation, pathways or professional English course), you will be required to take the PTE Academic UKVI test that provides you with a SELT Unique Reference Number (URN) which is required for visa application.

There is no designated passing score given by Pearson to the test takers. However, there is "minimum score requirements" or "PTE score cut-off" set by the abroad universities and visa offices. The basic criteria considered here is that you must have CEFR-B2 level of English profeciency to undertake a course abroad.
The PTE scores equivalent to the CEFR-B2 level range from 59-75. Hence, any PTE score within this range generally qualifies you to get admitted to universities abroad.

There is no exact choice of the PTE test centre that fits the "best" for all students. Students must look for and choose a centre which is the nearest to their current place of residence and is easily accessible. For this reason, start looking for a PTE test centre within your city.
However, if there is no PTE exam centre within your city then, select the one where you can travel to easily without getting late for your PTE exam. This is because if you miss out on appearing in the PTE exam at your chosen time slot then, you will have to book your PTE exam slot again along with re-paying the PTE exam fee.

To ensure the security of the active invigilators and test-takers, the Pearson PLC Group mandates students to bring their government-issued ID cards. The students must bring only the physical ID cards and no digital ID cards are accepted at the PTE test centres. The only acceptable government ID card for that reason is the Passport. If someone taking the PTE exam does not yet has a passport the, they will be rquired to bring an alternate ID card depending on the PTE exam they are taking.

The Pearson PLC Group ensures that students have a good experience while taking their PTE exam. To ensure this, several PTE test centres have been opened across major locations in different countries. Only 10-15 test takers (at max.) are allowed to take the PTE exam in a day at the designated PTE test centre. For this reason, students must book their PTE exam slots timely on priority.
