No, currently the PTE Academic Online exam is not accepted for visa applications abroad. Students seeking for an English test that is also widely accepted at universities abroad and also for visa applications must take the PTE Academic exam.

The PTE Academic Online test's fee is just the same as that of PTE Academic exam for a given country/area. For example, the fees for PTE Academic exam and the PTE Academic Online exam are INR 17,000 and in Australia, it is $445 AUD for both the exams.

Check out point wise evidences required for PTE exam 2026:
- The students are required to submit a letter or certificate, signed by an authorised medical practitioner, written when the candidate aged 12 years of age or above. Candidates are simply required to present the latest documentation that they have to prove their case.

On meeting certain eligibility criteria, the request for "special requirement" should be raised while creating an account on the "my PTE" portal. On completing the account information (profile), the students will be asked to fill out an additional form and attach all the medical certificates and evidence they have to prove their claim for special request. Thereafter, the customer support team from the Pearson PTE exam will verify each case and then reach out to the candidates with special requests and book their slots. The newest addition to the PTE tests, PTE Core exam is recognised by the Canadian government (IRCC) for visa applications under all economic classes including permanent residency and citizenship. The test consists of three parts; Part 1 comprises testing the English Speaking and Writinf skills which takes over 50 minutes of time. Part 2 of the PTE Core test assesses the English Reading Skills of the candidates and Part 3 assesses the English Listening skills. Both Part 2 and Part 3 take over 30 minutes each for the successful completion. This sums up to a total of 2 hours for the PTE Core test.

Yes, the PTE exam for students opting to study abroad, i.e. PTE Academic is now available to be taken online. The PTE Academic Online exam can be taken on the my PTE portal and allows students to appear for the exam from the comfort of their homes, offices or any quiet and private space that abides by all the conditions mandated by the Pearson PLC Group.
The at-home PTE online exam has been launched as an aid for students who cannot reach the distant PTE test centers easily. However, the PTE exam fees remains the same for both PTE Academic and PTE Academic Online exams.
