Yes, you can definitely try the UGC NET in Environmental Science if you hold a Master's degree in Botany. The UGC NET eligibility criteria also include that such applicants holding their Master's degrees in subjects allied to Environmental Science are acceptable too. Botany falls in that category as an allied subject. Thus, you can take up Environmental Science as your UGC NET subject. 

Except this, ensure you meet all other eligibility criteria

1. Marks: 55% aggregate at Master's degree level; for reserved categories it is 50%.
