I am fully satisfied with my college.
Placements: About 30% of students were placed in B.A. Hons Social Sciences History subject. About 6 LPA package is the highest, and the lowest is 1.2 LPA rupees. UGC NET is recruiting for my course. The role is as a professor in many colleges. The college offered many roles to me.
Infrastructure: Facilities and infrastructure of my department are very well maintained. Wi-Fi, classroom, library, and water cooler are available in my department. The hostel and food quality are also good. The medical facility is good in my college. All the facilities are well.
Faculty: Teachers at this college are generally considered helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable in their respective fields. Most faculty members hold postgraduate or doctoral degrees and possess a solid understanding of their field. The semester exam is not very difficult.
Other: I chose this course because it aligns with my interests and future career goals. The subjects covered offer deep insights into the field I want to pursue, and the course provides a balanced mix of theoretical knowledge and practical application. Additionally, the reputation of the college and its availability are important. In terms of campus life, the college organizes a variety of events and fests that allow students to showcase their talents. The campus crowd is friendly.

It is value for money and focuses on overall development.
Placements: About 50-60% of students get placed with an average salary package of 8 LPA. The highest package is 11 LPA and the lowest package is 2.5 LPA. The top recruiting companies for our course are Flipkart and investment banking companies. Roles like financial analyst and financial advice of the organisation are offered here.
Infrastructure: It has neat and clean classrooms with good furniture podium and smart boards. It also includes a library, platinum hall, auditorium, and annex hall. The hostel experience is good. Rooms are spacious. The food is good and healthy. The health care center is provided for students.
Faculty: The quality of education provided is good as qualified and experienced professors are there. It is value for money. Everything is covered including theoretical and practical knowledge for industry work. At least 40% is needed to pass semester exams and the level of examination is moderate.
Other: I chose this course because it connects theoretical knowledge to the practical world as it is the bridge between business theories and making decisions with correct knowledge of the business environment and uncertainties for an organisation. For improvement, it can conduct industry tours for students. It conducts everything like events, fests, extracurricular activities, etc. The connectivity is strong among students of the university.

Absolutely dissatisfied because of its faculty members.
Placements: In our college, we do not get minimum support from our teachers like contacting recruiters even after our TPOs made the contacts. They do not even collaborate with IIT BHU for placements. So no companies came. Two startups come from our alumni. Only 2 out of 60 students are placed, 1 is for sales department under the company named Crowe and other is for system engineer. The package is approximately 6 LPA.
Infrastructure: The facilities are average in our department. Wi-Fi is good and lab is developing with good PCs though need improvement. Classrooms are huge but it becomes unbearable during summer. Library is good and antique provided by our university. We have a digital room for those who don't have their own laptops. Hostels are good with small rooms. Food is eatable in mess. We have big grounds where various games are played.
Faculty: Teachers, apart from two or three, seem knowledgeable but their teaching quality is worse. Course curriculum is relevant which partly makes students industry-ready. Semester exams are not that much tough but the marking system is at the teacher's whim. Pass percentage is 60-70%.
Other: Campus surroundings are good and highly connected. From our department, we do not have any fest but in other departments, it happens so can participate there.

B.Com (Hons.) in Financial Markets Management - Batch of 2025
4
2Placements5Infrastructure3Faculty5Crowd & Campus Life5Value for Money
Fairly satisfied as infrastructure is good it depends on students how they utilise it.
Placements: The placements from the B.Com (Hons) in Financial Market Management are quite low compared to expectations, with only a few exceptional students. Around 5-10% being placed from our batch. The salary packages range from 2 lahks to 6 lahks, and the leading recruiting companies include TCS and various consultancy groups. Our course also has a 1-month mandatory internship program in year 2 so that students can learn about the corporate world. The top roles offered in our course are accounting and management.
Infrastructure: Banaras Hindu University in Varanasi has one of the largest campuses in India and is the largest residential university in the country. The entire campus provides Wi-Fi and operates on solar energy, with solar panels installed in every building. BHU offers students some of the best library facilities, both in print and digital formats. Additionally, BHU has a large number of hostels and mess facilities that provide affordable and delicious food. The university also emphasizes sports, as each hostel features grounds for students to learn and play various sports.
Faculty: Professors at Banaras Hindu University are well-educated and knowledgeable in their subjects, as well as being courteous and cooperative. The faculty members engage with their students, encouraging and motivating them toward personal development. However, the B.Com (Hons) in FMM course is not up to date with current industry standards and does not adequately prepare students for industry readiness. The semester exams at BHU are not particularly challenging; any average, or even below-average, student can easily achieve a 7 CGPA.
Other: I chose this course because of the legacy of BHU. I also appreciate the freedom this program provides, allowing you to focus on your future goals, whether they involve CA, UPSC, or CAT. One crucial aspect that this course needs is an update: it continues to teach students outdated, textbook knowledge with little relevance to the current corporate world. The curriculum requires revision to better prepare students for the industry and help them acquire essential skills.

Excellent infrastructure and green campus.
Placements: In B.Sc. Chemistry, placements are not good; only 10 to 20% of students secure jobs, with the highest package being 9 lakhs and the lowest 3 lakhs, averaging between 4 to 5 lakhs. Many students opt for further studies in Chemistry, such as M.Sc. and Ph.D. The college does not provide internships; you must seek them out yourself.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is generally good and classic, giving a vibe of an ancient building. The labs are well-equipped, and all necessary equipment is always available. The hostels are nice and affordable, while the quality of mess food is better than average. The canteen is satisfactory. Medical facilities are among the best, in my opinion, because all treatments and medications are free of charge. The sports ground is excellent, and students regularly engage in sports. The university hosts sports events every year, and we also have a decent gym on campus.

Overall okay but need improvement .
Placements: There is not any placement opportunities in our college neither it have internship opportunities. If you want to do internships you can search it online and apply easily but one can not expect this from the college faculty members. It lacks this aspect of college .
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is average in our college, although regular improvements are done by college authorities to built but still it is not upto the mark and lacks current technologies. Our college have library, gym and a ground. I would say main campus offers good Infrastructure but affiliated colleges need improvement .
Faculty: Teaching staff and faculty were good the only problem was that they do not offer practical knowledge of the subject and not aware students about the latest opportunities and technologies which one can use to get good job opportunities. The faculty members are overall okay.
Other: I choose this course because of two factors value for money and its cost of living.

Q:   Does BHU prioritize for hostel allocation to outstation students?
A:

For further hostel related queries, students can contact the help desk of the university for better guidance.

A:

Q:   Should I take partial drop to get admission in BHU main campus if I am getting BHU affiliated colleges?
A:

The answer to this question depends on the priority of the students. If you wish to study your course in the main campus, then you might think of taking a drop. However, if the aim is only to get a BHU degree then going on with the affiliated college is a good option. Taking a drop is only useful if the aim is to get into a specialised course. No doubt, Banaras Hindu University is ranked university with its own perks. The university is ranked at 5 under the 'University' category in NIRF 2024 rankings. Students are advised to make a list of points that they would consider while choosing a college. This will help students make a right decision.

Q:   Can a student studying in the first year at BHU apply for admission to another course in BHU next year?
A:

No, you may not be allowed to apply for another course in the next year. As per the guidelines, a candidate may not be allowed to pursue two degree programmes at the same time. However, applications can be accepted for admission to Banaras Hindu University Diploma or certificate courses. If you want to discontinue one course for another, then you will have to cancel admission in the running course before applying for another course.
