Planning to apply to ACU? For PTE, aim for a score between 50–65. Chill courses might be okay with 50+, but anything in Health or Education probably needs a 58–65 at least. TL;DR: Check your course page before applying, just to be safe.

No, both exams are not easier than the other one. It only depends on the examinee's confidence and command over the English language. Also, it depends on the person's choice of examination. Pearson Test of English or PTE follows a scoring system done by AI, which is unbiased. Also, the test results are given within 48 hours of the examination. IELTS is conducted through human interaction, mainly in the speaking part of the examination. IELTS is the traditional way of testing your English language proficiency. PTE is technologically advanced, with the usage of AI, which is impartial.

Neither the PTE exam nor the IELTS exam is relatively harder than the other. The level of difficulty for a given exam is perceived differently by test takers as per their level of preparation and proficiency in the language. Students comfortable with an online setup can opt to take the PTE exam as it is completely computer-based and needs little to no human intervention.
