Yes, the PTE scoring pattern has been changed for the year 2025. The exam consists of 52-64 tasks and 20 different question types. Earlier, all these questions in the PTE exam used to be scored solely machines by using strong AI algorithms.

But now, human scoring has been additionally incorporated for a double verification and fairer scoring.

The human scoring is done in two ways for the lived test responses of the PTE Academic Test:

  1. For the anomalies: This is the area where the unusual answers cannot be scored by automation and hence, human expertise is equired.
  2. Task Specific: The "Describe Image" and the "Retell Recture"

No big change for 2025. The exam is already shortened to approx 2 hours. It is much faster than IELTS. Any change in PTE exam will be updated in the article.

Yes, you can do TOEFL to IELTS or TOEFL to PTE score conversion. It helps you understand how your TOEFL score compares to other English tests.

Unlike the IELTS exam, the PTE exam is concluded in a single sitting within a day. While students get to attempt all the three parts of the PTE exam within a single sitting, the Speaking section of the IELTS exam needs to be attempted on a different day then the rest of its sections (or the main exam), and it can be taken within 1 week of the main exam. The overall duration of the PTE exam is also shorter than the IELTS exam, i.e. ~2 hours and 2 hours 45 minutes respectively.

Universities, colleges and institutions abroad can access a student's PTE Score Reports by visting the Pearson Score Review Website (SRW), using the unique Score Report Code or your Registration ID that you shared with them.

Your unique Score Report Code is a 10-letter/digit combination, given at the top of your Score report, just below your name.

The Pearson PLC Group has pioneered the AI scoring when it comes to international English tests. It uses sophisticated AI algorithms, based on the 100s and 1000s of real test responses. This makes the PTE test scoring accurate, and free of any bias and human errors (except for a few, where human scoring is done).
