Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology (TIET) is a well-known private university in India offering undergraduate engineering programs, including B.Tech. Admission to B.Tech programs at TIET is based on JEE Main scores, and the cutoff for admission varies from year to year depending on various factors. Based on the previous year's cutoff trends, it is unlikely that you will get admission to the B.Tech programme at TIET with AJEE Main rank of 140,000. However, if you have scored 98% in your board exams, you may still be eligible for admission through the Lateral Entry scheme. TIET offers the Lateral Entry scheme for students who

Hello Viva Palwal, I must say that you are ranking at 37000 in EWS category is of course very nice. However it may not be enough to get you a seat through jossa that is the counselling for admission in NIT and equivalent institutes. This is so because NITs together have roughly 50000 seats and out of these 50% are for reserved category. That leaves 25000 for general candidates and out of these 10% that is 2500 are for EWS category. In a nutshell you will be fighting for a seat in these 2500 vacancies is in different NIT's and equivalent institutions. In view of this information you can SEE for yourself where you stand and how much are

You have very low chances of getting admission in any of the NITs based on your JEE Main percentile score and category rank. Try for admission in private colleges through state counselling.

The admission to National Institutes of Technology (NITs) is based on the JEE Main scores and the cutoffs for admission vary every year depending on several factors such as the difficulty level of the exam, the number of candidates who appeared, and the number of seats available. As per the previous year's cutoffs, it may be difficult to get admission to the NITs with a score of 102 in JEE Mains, even if you belong to the OBC category and are a girl student. However, the cutoffs change every year, and the cutoffs for this year may be different from the previous years. In addition to the JEE Main scores, most NITs also have a minimum el

Hello Bhukya Nithin, even though your question was almost 1 year old I will be trying to answer it with the current scenario. National testing agency which conducts JEE Mains examination in multiple sessions declares the results session wise as well as overall fundamentally in the percentile form. They also publish percentile cutoffs for different categories of students. The students who have scored equivalent or more percentiles are only authorised to take part in the counselling for admission to NIT or equivalent institute. Till last year they had given relaxation of the condition of 75% in the 12th standard for admission into IIT bu

JEE Mains and CUET, the famous examinations being conducted by National testing agency, the syllabus is always declared and published on their website along with the announcement for the examination. In addition to this the type of questions which will be asked is also indicated in the information brochure along with marks allotted for each paper and as to how the ranking will be done at the end of the examination. The issue of reduced syllabus is of course taken care since National testing agency basis its question paper on the syllabus that is prescribed by CBSE for the 12th standard. Best wishes to you.

Hello Prateek Kumar, if I may say so you are percentile at 52.24 is a bit on the lower side. Also if this percentile for your category is lower than the one decided by National testing agency as cut off percentile than you cannot participate in the process of counselling for getting admissions in NIT or equivalent institute. However, if your own state is considering this examination as the entrance examination for admissions to different engineering colleges then of course you have still affair chance of getting admitted in one of the colleges. Shiksha has generated one programme called college predictor for JEE Mains examination takin

Hello Anuja Abhijit Khatav, with the cutoff announced by National testing agency at about 67 percentile for OBC NCL category your percentile at 84 is excellent. However, to get admission in the branch of computer sciences engineering one needs at least in general category to score a percentile of more than 99.5. I am sure that in the category of OBC NCL also similar situation will prevail. This is so because almost every student gives this branch as the first choice. Shiksha has developed one college predictor based on the results of the previous years to help students predict us to which branch and in which college they can get based
