All about National Institute Of Technology Durgapur.
Placements: As compared to other colleges, our college is doing better, and I don't regret coming here. The placement percentage was around between 70 and 75 percent. Apple came this year and took students. Other than that, companies like Microsoft, Texas Instruments, PepsiCo, Reliance, PWC, ZS associate and many more visit. The highest package was 80 LPA. Internship is bagged by almost all students who work hard. In chemical engineering, they get internships in Bharat Petroleum, etc.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is excellent. The hostels are excellent, especially for the first and the second years. Apart from that, the new academic building, the main academic building and the buildings of the respective departments are excellent. The Wi-Fi is not that good but it's decent. The labs are also well-equipped; however, they are quite old and need to be refurbished again. The classrooms are great and well air conditioned and the same applies to the library. The lodging facilities in the hostel are top-notch. However, there are high fluctuations in the quality of the food we get in the mess.
Faculty: The curriculum was updated in 2023 and it has been improved. In case of faculty, some of the faculty I came across are really helpful and communicative. However, some are not good and are hated by many people. The main point is that whether the faculty is good or bad, they all are well qualified. The curriculum has been updated but still studying topics like ecology and engineering graphics in the first year for non-mechanical engineering students is a complete waste of time. The semester exams are between moderate and hard. Pass percentage is decent.
Other: I chose this course as I have an interest in chemical engineering. Also, the placements in this field here are quite decent. Our college hosts Aarohan, the second largest tech fest of eastern India. Also, fests like Recstacy and a lot more make it unique. A lot of clubs are there that we can join. Every time, there is something or the other going on in the campus.

Not very satisfactory college.
Placements: I am currently a 3rd-year student pursuing B. Teach in Chemical Engineering. Companies allowing Chemical students are L&T, Reliance, HPCL, BPCL, PwC, etc. Till date (18/1/25), 53% of students from Chemical have been placed. For internships, the opportunities are fewer.
Infrastructure: In the department, Wi-Fi is available but not accessible for students. If you are a Jio user, then inside the department, you will face network issues. Labs and classes aren't very amazing. Wi-Fi is provided in the hostel. The mess food isn't good at all. Game facilities are available in the hostel.
Faculty: Not all the teachers are that welcoming and helpful. They may be knowledgeable but don't always profess the knowledge properly. The curriculum is okayish. Still, it should be improved. The exams are not very difficult. If you study properly, you can score good.
Other: Fests and events are organized in the campus by the various clubs of the college.

Great Infrastructure and Campus Life.
Placements: NIT Durgapur has a decent placement record, attracting numerous reputable companies across various sectors. The placement process typically begins in the seventh semester or in the month of July for final-year students, with companies conducting pre-placement talks as well as tests. In the year 2023, NIT DGP achieved an overall placement rate of 84.66% for B.Tech students. The highest package offered was 70 LPA and an average package of 13.62 LPA.
Infrastructure: All the facilities such as Wi-Fi, labs, and library are available, and also the infrastructure is great, as well as neat and clean. The quality of mess food is good. But only three meals are provided; there isn’t much variety in the first year, especially in the girls' hostel.
Faculty: The faculty is very helpful, kind, and sweet. You can ask them any doubts; they are highly qualified, and the course is absolutely relevant here. The semester exams are not that tough; they are moderate. All you need is concentration in the classroom, and that's enough.
Other: I chose this course because I was interested in that field, and also the college is near my home state. All I wish for is more placements in my course. Yes, events are held regularly for extracurricular activities.

Good placements for core branches like CS, EE, ECE, Chemical, Mechanical, etc.
Placements: The percentage of placements is branchwise. Top branches like CS, EE, ECE, CH, and MEC have a good placement percentage. But branches like BT and CE are not so good in placements. Top recruiters are Apple, Microsoft, IoCl, Aakash, and many more. Students can apply for internships in their 3rd year if they have skills to show so that they have some edge during college placements. If you go for core companies, then you have to mainly focus on your subjects to increase your CGPA, which is very important according to placement.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is good, but the hostels are not good, especially for 3rd and 4th year. In the first year and second year, we got new hostels, which are very big. But in 3rd and 4th year we got small hostel according to branchwise. But all the hostels are fully Wi-Fi, classrooms are fully air-conditioned, and the library is also fully air-conditioned.
Faculty: The teachers are very good. They provide ppts, which helps the students during the exam. All the professors are well educated and experienced. Even the semester exams are also based on the topics that were discussed in the class. And the marking is also very lenient.
Other: The crowd on campus is very low. If there are so many students in one classroom, then they divide the students into two sections. So that teachers can interact easily. I think bikes should also be allowed on campus for classes because the classes are far away from the hostel. But cycles are allowed on the campus.

This college is great in terms of everything, but you have to study on your own.
Placements: About 80% of the students are placed. But this number varies year after year. Talking about the highest package, this year it is 51 LPA, while the previous year it was 80 LPA. This year, about 8 students got the job in Apple-like companies. CSE, Electrical, and Mechanical are the top-performing branches of our college.
Infrastructure: Its infrastructure is great. With a lush green campus along with ponds and parks. For me, this campus is totally a kind of bhool bhulaiyya type, with a lot of roads connected to each other. But at every junction, you have security guards as well as maps so that you don’t get confused in between. My campus has some old buildings, and others are new. You will have classes in all of them. I am really impressed by the auditorium hall, its infrastructure is great from the inside. Other than this, the classes of NAB are totally well-equipped and decorated.
Faculty: Here the faculty is great, they have great knowledge about their subjects. Other than that, some of them have their image in the world’s top professionals. But in my opinion, you have to study on your own for a good score in your semesters. But yes, they may suggest you the resources, the books, and all other stuff so that you can access them directly from the library for free of cost.
Other: I chose the Chemical Engineering course because it is the best deserving branch on my rank. Other than this, during this AI generation, this branch has never-ending scope, so it is quite secure in comparison to other branches.

NIT Durgapur is one of the good NITs.
Placements: The placements at NIT Durgapur are excellent and top-notch. The highest package is around 75 LPA and the average package is around 15 LPA. The lowest package was around 7 LPA. Top recruiters are Microsoft, Google, Salesforce and Qualcomm, who visit the campus for placements.
Infrastructure: The college provides good infrastructure and facilities. The classrooms are smart classrooms and there are two libraries on campus. The hostel rooms are shared for the first year, then separate rooms are given in the second year. Rooms are clean and the food is average.
Faculty: The faculty here is very supportive and friendly in nature. They always try to help the students whenever they are in trouble. There is no deadline pressure here. Also, the faculty is highly qualified in their respective fields. The exams are moderate-to-hard.

Facilities of the college are overrated.
Placements: For chemical organizations, the placement has not been good in recent times, professors are not giving new grades, the companies visited so far are Essar UK Oil, Andritz, Microsoft, Flipkart, and Google this year, and the highest package is available at 3500000 per annum.
Infrastructure: In the hostel, we will be provided with 2–3 members per room based on the amount that we will pay. The food served by the mess is quite good and we also get fish meals, which are prepared well. The students in our hostel also make food themselves if they don't like the meal. We will charge the customers using online gateways that are supported by SBI and PhonePe. A room will be given.
Faculty: Our class has the most of 80 students, and our class also has 16 teachers under this course. There is a teacher for each subject with a degree from a well-known foreign university who is using innovative methods of teaching. There are 3 exams: the midterm, the end semester, and class assignments. A midterm falls 1.5 months into the course and an end-of-semester exam falls 4 months after classes have begun.
Other: A lively club culture encompasses technical societies like GLUG, RECurrison, Math and Tech, CCA, SAE, IEEE, and ISTE, along with cultural groups such as Strokes, Dance, Music, and Prakrit. Festivals like E-SUMMIT, AAROHAN, AAVISHKAR, and RECSTACY mark the academic calendar, injecting excitement into campus life year-round.

Review of NIT Durgapur - National Institute of Technology.
Placements: Approximately 80-85% of the students get placed every year. Last year the highest package was 45 LPA from Computer Science, the average packages lie between 11-12 LPA. The top recruiting companies in the Chemical Engineering department are RIL, Haldia Petrochemical, and many more. The average packages from our department are 8-10 LPA.
Infrastructure: Here we have well-maintained labs and classrooms. Recently, a new research building, Utkarsh Bhawan, was inaugurated. We have also got a central library with an ample amount of books and enough space for a reading room. Hostel is compulsory for all the students. In the first and second year, you will get a new hostel, but in the third and fourth, you will get the old hostel. The food quality increases as you go into the third and fourth year.
Faculty: All the professors are well qualified, and the way they teach in class is fabulous. One of the professors from our department, Parimal Pal, is among the top 2% of scientists in the world. He has many patents and many research papers published in many countries. You will have to work very hard to get marks as the curriculum is tough.
