Indian Institute of Information Technology, Kottayam, is an absolutely good college for studying.
Placements: In my group, the placement percentage is around 80 to 90 percent, it varies from year to year. The highest package in our college in 2025 is 55 LPA, and the average is 13 LPA. The top companies like Accenture, TCL, Oracle, Amazon, Infosis, etc., have an approach to recruiting.
Infrastructure: The hostel in our college can accommodate up to 100 people. Each room consists of 3 members. The infrastructure is very good and always maintains hygiene. The food does not include only Kerala food, but also the food from other states is available here. The medical facilities are very good and available 24/7.
Faculty: The faculty in our college are highly qualified from IITs, NITs, IIITs, etc. And the way of teaching makes you learn very easily. They prepare students for placements from the 1st year onwards by guiding them on what to do. The semester exams are of medium difficulty.

Overview of Indian Institute of Information Technology Kottayam .
Placements: The placements are decent here as of now. The median is around 10 to 12 LPA, and the average is near to 12 LPA. Location and recession are the main reasons for the limited number of companies. You can check out the placement statistics on the college website.
Infrastructure: The hostels are very good infrastructure-wise, but the freshers should stay outside campus hostels for their first year due to the limited number of hostels inside campus. Labs are well developed. Classrooms are good, and Wi-Fi is above average. Mess is above decent.
Faculty: The curriculum is good, which follows IIITH's curriculum. The faculty is friendly, and the examinations are reduced, which makes it stress-free for students. Being a IIIT, it solely depends on industry preparing subjects like CS communications and personality development.
Other: The college is good enough with a mix of everything.

Continuously upgrading and developing skills relevant to the desired field enhances employability.
Placements: In cybersecurity, there is no passed-out batch. So, I can't provide information about placements in my course. This year, my seniors are the first batch. According to core placements, it is good now. Seeking internships during the course of study or during breaks provides valuable work experience, practical skills, and industry exposure. Internships are lead to full-time job offers upon graduation. Building a professional network through industry events, alumni connections, and online platforms. LinkedIn helps students discover job opportunities and access hidden job markets.
Infrastructure: Facilities and infrastructure are good. We have separate classrooms and labs. There is no problem with Wi-Fi. The library is very small, but we get the resources we need. Classrooms with AC are provided. Food facilities are adequate. Sports facilities are good, and we have separate grounds for all sports.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful with our projects, and assistants like Ph.D. scholars help us with lab activities. The curriculum is good. It helps students get internships. The question papers in midterm and semester exams are of moderate to high difficulty. The passing criteria require a 5 CGPA.
Other: I am very interested in hacking, so I chose this course because of my interest in hacking. Hacking is very fun. I expect to learn more this year. My teachers are very helpful with projects. Increasing interaction with students is necessary. Fests and cultural activities are very fun. They occur once or twice a semester. All extracurricular activities are encouraged.

One among underrated IIIT's.
Placements: The college has good placement among new IIIT's as una, Ranchi, Kurnool. The average package is 14.5LPA now (you can refer to the latest states on iiit kottayam website). It will increase with time. Companies like google, amazon and Goldman Sacs recruited from this college.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure here is in good condition as the college is new. There are ample facilities in hostel as washing machines, tv, TT tables, iron, etc. There is a pleasant environment around hostels in the morning. Three sharing rooms are there.
Faculty: The curriculum is much updated as compared to NITs and mostly like IIIT Hyderabad. Faculty members are also very good and supportive. The curriculum is based on skill development mostly. You can judge our curriculum as we have studied C+, HTML, Javascript, etc.

Good institute, but hard work from your end is needed.
Placements: The placement percentage is 100% for the 2019 batch.
The top recruiters at our college are Amazon, Microsoft, TCS, Cisco, Palo Alto, Accolite, Codenation, Cognizant, Capegemini, Deloitte, Harman, Goldman Sachs, Infosys, and Nvidia.
Most of the roles offered, including SDE, frontend, backend, cyber security, and ECE, are going to start now.
The highest package was INR 58.93 LPA.
Most of them got internships.
Infrastructure: Yeah, all is well, though a few parts and blocks are under construction in the campus labs and classrooms.
Facilities in the hostel are good enough, and the food is good. Though it is in Kerala, they don't use Kerala rice and coconut oil for food; the food is diversified and good.
We have a medical center and grounds for football and cricket.
Faculty: Yes, most of the teachers are good enough and quite cooperative.
Course curriculum: I would rate it 4–4.5; it's actually good, and it was referenced from IIIT Hyderabad when it used to be the monitoring institute of our college.
Semesters are not very difficult; listening to classes will complete 80% of the preparation.
40% is the pass percentage.

This Institute is vey good and will be worth if you do hard work.
Placements: I am currently a fresher at IIIT Kottayam, Most of our seniors are placed at good companies according to our seniors. The highest and average packaged are steadily growing year by year. Top recruiting companies are IBM and TCS. But what I have seen on LinkedIn is that the seniors are typically working in these types of companies only for a year, and then they go to work for extremely niche companies such as Google, Goldman, Brain, Facebook, etc.
Infrastructure: Though we haven't been to campus yet, according to our seniors, the campus is clean, but in one room, three students have to stay at the hostel, which I didn't know before joining the college. Also, for the first semester, some students didn't get to stay in the campus hostel because it didn't have enough space. The hotel is available first for those who accepted their seats earlier. This rule is only for first year students. Starting from the second year, everybody gets to stay at the hostel.
There is not much infrastructure built for sports. The land allotted is very uneven, which gives the college an aesthetic beauty because of the mountain. The administration isn't much interested in spending on sports, although they always say every year that a stadium will be built. The Wi-fi and classrooms are excellent, especially because of NKN.
Faculty: Teachers are really the best thing about this college. I haven't seen any of the teachers scolding a student, they are experts in their subjects. They know when they are wrong and they mean it when they say they will assist them with the help of reference books in clearing students' doubts.
Other: The seniors at this college are helpful. They did everything to make our first semester very great, as the classes were held online, and still, our seniors managed to convince the administration to conduct a freshers' fest, "adavya." Also, we have plenty of clubs that one can join and explore.

The beauty of Indian Institute of Information Technology, Kottayam.
Placements: A lot of the placements depend on the actual individual. The college gets you mid companies, which offer from the range of 6 to high-tier companies offering 30-40 LPA as well. You can get a no-objection certificate in your 4th year if you have an internship and do the work.
Infrastructure: The best hostels ever, as we were accommodated in a new hostel with all the facilities, regular cleaning, nice washing machines and timely repair. The mess lacks a little in quality, as we had way better food when we had recently joined compared to what it has turned out to be now.
Faculty: The exams were tedious at first, with 2 mid-semester and one end-semester apart from normal assignments and labs, but now it has reduced to only 1 mid-semester and is a lot easier on the students. Teachers are helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable as well.

My experience in my first year of college.
Placements: The placements in our college are about 85% this year. Last year it was 100%. Even in the times of recession our college has performed well. The highest package is 59lpa last year and it was about 45 LPA this year. Many students in our college got daad wise scholarships also. The roles offered in companies are sde and full sack developed or SEE intern.
Infrastructure: The rooms are good. But every room is three seater non AC. The mess is spacious. The mess food is okay. Wi-Fi speed is also good. There is a medical room (like a small clinic) in our college. Every hostel has a badminton court. Cricket, football, volleyball facilities are available in our college.
Faculty: The professors are well qualified. The curriculum of our college is very good. There is one mid sem and one end semester examination. The semester exam difficult level is moderate. The grading system is relatively based. Maintain a gpa above 8 points is good for placements.
Other: After my 12th I had written JEE and got 97 percentile. Based on my rank and my interest I had choose the best college and best course. The campus life style is good. There are two fest namely aarvam it happens during onam and the other one is adhavya annual cultural techno fest of iiit kottayam.
