This depends on your specific job role and market. For example, if you're working as a field test engineer, project engineer, or mechanical testing and validation engineer, you will have to visit manufacturing sites for equipment installation and maintenance and mechanical design and process testing.

On the other hand, if you're working as a mechanical design engineer involved in the design and analysis of mechanical blueprints, a research and development engineer, or a manufacturing engineer on production floors, your job will not have much fieldwork but rather be restricted to indoor creativity and brainstorming.

Things that affect the Mechanical Engineering salary packages in India are

  • academic records
  • skill set
  • internship
  • project experience (if any), job role, recruiter, work location and extra skill-based certifications.

If you have a specialisation in any specific area like robotics, automotive, or avionics or you have completed a master's degree, your salary potential can see a positive boost. Your focus should be more on enhancing your skills and gaining as much experience as possible to stand out in front of the recruiter.

A lot. The placement drive for BTech Mechanical Engineering graduates varies based on many things. The college ranking and reputation, industry connections, job profile, recruiter, work location, individual skills, academic records, and project or internship experience, everything matters.

Top mechanical recruiters mostly look for students with a solid practical portfolio and additional certifications that can add great value to their productivity and profits.
