Amrita School of Engineering, Coimbatore is a part of the Amrita group of Institution which was established in the year 1994. The institute offers more than 50 courses under UG, PG and doctoral level. All these courses offered by the institute are under the streams of Engineering and IT & Software.

Amrita School of Engineering Admission Process 2023

Amrita School of Engineering gives admission to several courses through common entrance examinations while admission to rest other courses are done on the basis of marks obtained in the qualifying examinations followed by personal counselling. The Amrita group of institutions centrally conducts entrance examinations for evaluating candidates for admission to some of the flagship courses.

• Admission to BTech programme offered at the institute is though Amrita Engineering Entrance Exam (AEEE)
• Admission to the MTech programme is done through an interview conducted by the University. However, the GATE qualified candidates are exempted from the interview and are offered direct admissions
• For admissions to the PhD programmes, candidates will have to go through a screening test and personal interview conducted by the University. Those candidates who have qualified CSIR/ UGC JRF/ GATE are exempted from the screening tests and can directly appear for the interview.
• Admission to rest other UG, PG and Integrated programmes offered at the institute is based on the marks scored in the qualifying examination and performance in the Interview.

The selection of the candidates to the five-year MSc programme is based on the marks scored in the qualifying examination and performance in the interview.

Amrita School of Engineering PhD Admission 2023

For admissions to the PhD programmes, candidates will have to go through a screening test and personal interview conducted by the University. Those candidates who have qualified CSIR/ UGC JRF/ GATE are exempted from the screening tests and can directly appear for the interview.

Students admitted to the first year of BTech batch are entitled to Amrita Vidyanidhi Scholarship based on their AEEE rank. Tuition fee waiver ranging from 90% to 25% is awarded to the students, based on their rank at the time of admission counselling.
