According to me, CS is the safest and most flexible choice, but Artificial Intelligence and Data Science offers faster growth in specialised sectors. Automation and Robotics engineering has fewer mass-recruitment IT jobs compared to standard CS as it is heavily tied to core industrial sectors and hardware labs.

Yes, direct admission is possible in some private engineering colleges, but it depends on the college and seat availability.
For AISSMS College of Engineering, Pune:
The institute primarily admits students through MHT CET and JEE Main via the Maharashtra CAP counselling process.
If seats remain vacant after the CAP rounds, the college may fill them through the Institute Level/Management Quota as per Maharashtra admission rules.
AISSMS offers a B.Tech/B.E. in Robotics and Automation, which started in 2022.
