College of Engineering, Pune Admission Process 2026
COEP Pune conducts admissions in online mode. Aspirants can get seat in BTech/ BPlan via Maharashtra State CAP rounds. The university conducts CAP round for alloting seat in MTech/ MPlan courses. Admission in PG diploma programmes is based on performance of aspirants in entrance test/ interview conducted by the university. Candidates must check eligibility criteria for their preferred course. 1: COEP Pune Application Process 2026
Aspirants must fill out the form for accepted entrance exam. Aspirants need to register for state-level counselling for BTech, BPlan, MBA courses after passing the entrance exam. Aspirants have to fill Non-CAP and ACAP form in MBA on the official website of COEP. Candidates need to fill out the form on the university's website for MTech, MPlan, PG Diploma and PhD courses. The application fees for General category candidates is INR 1,500 (INR 1,200 for reserved category candidates) for MTech, MPlan and PhD programmes. Aspirants need to pay INR 1,200 to apply for PG Diploma course. BTech application fee is INR 1,000.
2: Selection Process
Aspirants must pass MHT CET/ JEE Main for BTech and BPlan, GATE for MTech and GATE/ CEED for MPlan. The university conducts UCET for non-GATE and non-Sponsored category aspirants. The selection in MBA course is based on MAH MBA CET scores of the aspirants.
COEP conducts entrance test for admission in PG Diploma and PhD programmes. Aspirants may also need to pass a PI round for final selection.
3: Counselling & Merit list
- Applicants after passing JEE Main/ MHT CET for BTech and BPlan courses have to register for Maharashtra State CAP counselling. Candidates need to upload required documents. Once the registration is done, State CET Cell, Maharashtra releases a provisional merit list. The seats are allotted to candidates based on their rank.
- For MTech/ MPlan, aspirants have to register on the official website of COEP. The university releases provisional CAP allotment list in three rounds. The seats are allotted to aspirants based on their entrance exam rank.
- MBA applicants have to first apply for Maharashtra State CAP Counselling. Those who are allotted seat can confirm their admission. In case the seats remain vacant, aspirants can fill out the non-CAP or ACAP form on the university's website. The seats are then also offered based on MAH MBA CET scores of the candidates. Aspirants who did not participate in state-level CAP have to fill out non-CAP form. Aspirants can fill out ACAP form to apply for seats initially allotted to students via State CAP but gets vacant due to admission cancellation or non-reporting. Candidate must have their name in the merit list to fill out the ACAP form.
4: Admission Confirmation
Once the seat is allotted aspirants need to report at the campus for document verification. Shortlisted aspirants need to pay the COEP Pune fees to confirm their seat.
