NEET 2020: No curfew in Punjab on September 13
Punjab CM Amarinder Singh has lifted the Sunday curfew on September 13 for easy movement of candidates for NEET 2020 in the state.
Punjab Government announced that there would be no curfew in the state this Sunday. This move is made to facilitate free movement of students appearing for the National Eligibility cum Entrance NEET 2020. The exam is set to be conducted throughout the country on September 13, 2020, between 2 pm and 5 pm.
The CM of the State clarified that the shops selling non-essential items will remain closed. According to the guidelines of the state government, all cities and towns in the state are under curfew on Sundays. This is done to ensure social distancing during weekends at the time of pandemic.

“The relaxation in curfew is provided so that students do not face any problem while reaching their examination centres,” the chief minister replied to a student, from Abohar who raised travel issues during a Facebook live session yesterday.
"Though the state government has imposed Sunday curfew in all urban cities/towns, an exemption would be made this Sunday with free movement to be allowed," the CM said in an official release.
Recently the Health Ministry released the revised exam guidelines and SOPs. The notice read, “Examination centres are frequented by a large number of students, as well as their parents, and staff till the exam is conducted. Therefore, it is vital to plan and conduct these examinations while following specific safety measures."
In Odisha, the state government is providing free accommodation to the students in Bhubaneshwar for the exam to be conducted on September 13. Bhubaneshwar Municipal Corporation has made special arrangements for the same. Lakhs of students from remote areas also travel to the nearest cities to appear for the undergraduate entrance test for medical and dental colleges. The decision was taken as normal accommodation and transport facilities have been disrupted due to COVID19 pandemic and resultant lockdowns.
