What is NIELIT (DOEACC) O Level?

NIELIT (DOEACC) 'O' Level certification is one-year duration certification programme recognised by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India. Offered under NIELIT/DOEACC Scheme, the certification is equivalent to foundation level courses in Computer Applications. The qualifying exam to obtain a NIELIT (DOEACC) 'O' Level certification is organized by the Computer Society of India (CSI) and under the National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT). Candidates who possess a NIELIT (DOEACC) 'O' Level certification are eligible for the employment opportunities under Central Government

Candidates can acquire a NIELIT (DOEACC) 'O' Level certification by simply undergoing the course, completing assignments and passing the qualifying examination. Working professionals can also appear in this examination directly, provided they possess the requisite educational qualification.

NIELIT (DOEACC) 'O' level certification is also one of the criteria of eligibility for registration in employment exchanges for job assistance.

The objective of NIELIT (DOEACC) 'O' level certification is to enable a student to acquire the knowledge pertaining to fundamentals of Information Technology (IT Tools and Business Systems, Internet Technology and Web design, Programming and Problem Solving through ‘C’ Language, Application of .NET Technology, Introduction to Multimedia, and Introduction to ICT Resources, a Practical and Project Work). In order to serve the IT industry better, the NIELIT (DOEACC) 'O' Level course has been designed to develop the basic skills for the above.

Skill

Description

Analysis and Design

They analyze the needs of their clients before they begin their software projects. Then once they meet all these requirements they begin to develop the software. Junior programmers assist in the analysis and design phase of the project.

Writing Code

They are usually responsible for writing the code of the application to be developed. The senior programmer, on the other hand, will just be the one to assign the functions and specify the methods and events needed for the program and the junior programmer will do it.

Debugging

They carry out the debugging and troubleshooting of the program. They too will record the results and identify the possible problems in the application.

Documentation

They often provide the basic user manual to be used by the end-users. They also offer functional specifications to writers who will create the manual. They are the ones who will create the complete documentation of the entire application.

Training the end-user

They often help in training the users once the application is built and created.

 

Maintenance and Application upgrade

They are required also to create new functionality if their clients want it too.

 

DOEACC O Level: Eligibility Criteria

1) The general eligibility criteria to pursue the NIELIT (DOEACC) 'O' Level certification states that candidates need to complete their 10 + 2 education or possess ITI Certificate of one year after class 10 followed in each case by an accredited 'O' Level Course.

OR

Possess a Government recognized polytechnic engineering diploma after completing class 10 followed by an accredited 'O' level course concurrently during the third year of the said polytechnic engineering diploma course. 

2) For direct applicants, 10 + 2 or ITI Certificate (one year) after class 10 followed in each case, by one-year relevant experience. (Relevant experience is job experience in IT, including teaching in a recognized institution as faculty member, excludes coaching.

OR

Have passed NCVT-DP&CS (Data Processing & Computer Software) Examination conducted by DGE&T (Govt. of India).

Practical Training

Candidates pursuing the NIELIT (DOEACC) 'O' Level certification have to devote half of the total time allotted to each module of the course for the practical session. Practical assignments have been worked out for each theory module. The Practical examination will be based on the syllabus of ‘O’ Level course.

NIELIT (DOEACC) 'O' Level certification also involves project work as an important component of the certification.  The Project is carried out by candidates under the guidance and support of faculty and management of the respective Institute / Organization.
