NIELIT (DOEACC) 'O' Level certification is a one-year duration certification programme recognised by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India. Offered under NIELIT/DOEACC Scheme, the certification is equivalent to foundation level courses in Computer Applications.

The qualifying exam to obtain a NIELIT (DOEACC) 'O' Level certification is organized by the Computer Society of India (CSI) and under the National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT). Candidates who possess a NIELIT (DOEACC) 'O' Level certification are eligible for the employment opportunities under Central Government. 

The objective of NIELIT (DOEACC) 'O' level certification is to enable a student to acquire the knowledge pertaining to fundamentals of Information Technology (IT Tools and Business Systems, Internet Technology and Web design, Programming and Problem Solving through ‘C’ Language, Application of .NET Technology, Introduction to Multimedia, and Introduction to ICT Resources, a Practical and Project Work).

Candidates can acquire a NIELIT (DOEACC) 'O' Level certification by simply undergoing the course, completing assignments and passing the qualifying examination. Working professionals can also appear in this examination directly, provided they possess the requisite educational qualification.

NIELIT (DOEACC) 'O' level certification is also one of the criteria of eligibility for registration in employment exchanges for job assistance.

1) The general eligibility criteria to pursue the NIELIT (DOEACC) 'O' Level certification states that candidates need to complete their 10 + 2 education or possess ITI Certificate of one year after class 10 followed in each case by an accredited 'O' Level Course.

OR

Possess a Government recognized polytechnic engineering diploma after completing class 10 followed by an accredited 'O' level course concurrently during the third year of the said polytechnic engineering diploma course. 

2) For direct applicants, 10 + 2 or ITI Certificate (one year) after class 10 followed in each case, by one-year relevant experience. (Relevant experience is job experience in IT, including teaching in a recognized institution as a faculty member, excludes coaching.)

OR

Have passed NCVT-DP&CS (Data Processing & Computer Software) Examination conducted by DGE&T (Govt. of India).

Q. What is the schedule of the examination?

A. NIELIT O/A/B & C Level Theory Examinations are conducted every six months starting from the second Saturday of January and July. Practical Examinations are conducted starting from the second Saturday of February and August. If candidates appear for the exams on timely basis, then they can get the course completion certificate by the end of the session otherwise they have to re-register for the examination. 

Q. How many papers can a student apply in a single attempt?

A. There is no specific number as such. However, at each level, you need to complete the papers in the stipulated period. There are total 5 core papers which deal with the nuances of Computer Science and Software technology. Candidates have to also complete the project in order to complete the examination.

Q. What is the minimum mark required to qualify the modules of O/A/B & C level Examination?

A. Candidates are required to score a minimum of 50 % marks in each module to qualify them. Candidates must refer to the syllabus thoroughly and the relevant study material to prepare effectively and perform well in the examinations. Higher the score, the student shall be considered for merit or distinction. 

Q. Why a candidate is required to register with NIELIT?

A. Registration is a mandatory pre-requisite for appearing in the O/A/B/C level Examinations conducted by the NIELIT. Unless the candidate is not registered, he or she cannot appear for the examination and get the final certificate. Therefore registration is essential and must for every candidate. 

Q. Can a candidate register for more than one level at a time?

A. No, at any point of time, a candidate can hold a valid registration, for one Lev el only. After completing a particular level only then the candidate can appear and pursue another level according to the eligibility criteria. 

Q. What are the documents to be attached with the registration form?

A. Candidates are not needed to send any documents along with the registration form. Also, candidates should not fill any wrong/inaccurate information in the Online Registration Application form. Failing to do so, the candidate will be responsible for further legal or other consequences.

Q. How can a student check the status of the Registration Application to any course?

A. Registration application status can be checked on the online student Portal http://student.nielit.gov.in by entering the Registration Application No. received while filling the Online Registration Application Form (ORAF).

A. While filling the ORAF, the list of accredited institutes will be available. A student can select the appropriate accredited institute from the list.
