IPMAT 2026 is scheduled to be conducted on May 4, 2026. The Indian Institute of Management, Indore, will conduct IPMAT exam in computer based test format in afternoon shift at different exam centres in India. IPMAT 2026 Question Paper Structure
There are three sections in the IPMAT question paper, i.e.
- Verbal Ability (MCQs)
- Quantitative Ability (MCQs)
- Quantitative Aptitude (SA)
The total number of questions in the IPMAT exam can be between 90 and 100. So, total marks in IPMAT exam 2026 can vary between 360 and 400. The Verbal Ability section of the IPM question paper will have the highest number of questions. Check the table below to know the IPMAT exam pattern 2026:

IPMAT 2026 Marking Scheme
According to the IPMAT 2026 paper pattern, following is the marking scheme:
- +4 marks will be awarded for each correct answer
- -1 marks will be deducted for each incorrect answer
- 0 marks for questions unattempted
IPMAT 2026: Negative Markings
Candidates should follow marking scheme of IPMAT 2026 exam. As mentioned above, IPMAT question paper will have a negative marking of -1 mark for each question. However, no negative marking will be applied for the QA (Short Answers) section. This can be a scoring opportunity for the candidates.
