CBSE 10th, 12th Board Exam in Middle East

CBSE Board Exam 2026 in Middle East: The Central Board of Secondary Education has postponed several CBSE Class 10 and 12 Board Exams 2026 scheduled in Middle East countries due to prevailing security situation in the region. The decision has affected thousands of Indian students studying in CBSE-affiliated schools across the Gulf.

Students and parents are now concerned about whether the postponed and cancelled CBSE board exams 2026 will be conducted later or if an alternative evaluation method, similar to the COVID-19 period will be used. As of now, there has been no official update from CBSE regarding this.

Why have CBSE Board Exams 2026 Postponed in Middle East?

According to official updates, CBSE decided to postpone board exams after reviewing the security situation and regional tensions in the Middle East. The decision applies to CBSE schools located in several countries, including:

  • United Arab Emirates (UAE)
  • Bahrain
  • Iran
  • Kuwait
  • Oman
  • Qatar
  • Saudi Arabia

The board stated that student safety and well-being are the top priority, and the situation will be reviewed before conducting exams again.

CBSE Class 10 Exams 2026 Cancelled in Some Cases

It must be noted that CBSE Class 10 board exams scheduled between March 7 and 11, 2026, in the Middle East have been cancelled. It was also mentioned that the board will announce a separate method for preparing the results. The mode of CBSE 10th result preparation for these students will be announced later, raising questions about how the marks will be calculated.

CBSE Class 12 Exam 2026 Only Postponed, Not Cancelled

For CBSE Class 12 students, the exams have only been postponed and not cancelled so far. Exams scheduled between March 12 and 16, 2026 have been deferred. The board will review the situation before announcing new exam dates.  If the situation improves, CBSE may conduct the exams on revised dates.

Will CBSE Release New Exam Dates for Classes 10, 12?

CBSE has stated that new dates for the postponed exams will be announced later after reviewing the regional situation. Possible scenarios include:

  • Rescheduling the postponed CBSE board exams in April or later.
  • Conducting exams once the situation stabilises.
  • Introducing an alternative evaluation method if exams cannot be conducted safely.

How Students May Be Evaluated If CBSE Board Exam 2026 are Cancelled?

If CBSE decides not to conduct exams, the board may adopt an alternative evaluation formula, similar to the system used during COVID-19 pandemic. Possible methods include:

Internal Assessment Marks: Schools may submit marks based on

  • Periodic tests
  • Unit tests
  • Internal assessments
  • Practical exams

Pre-Board Exam Scores

Marks obtained in CBSE pre-board exams may be considered as part of the final result.

School Performance Records: CBSE may use a combination of:

  • Class performance
  • Internal assessments
  • Project work

Optional CBSE Improvement Exams

Students may also be given the option to appear for improvement exams later if they are not satisfied with their marks. This model was used during CBSE Board Exams 2021, when papers were cancelled due to COVID-19 pandemic.

Impact on Students and Admissions

CBSE Board exam postponement has created uncertainty among students, particularly those appearing for class 12 board exams, as their results are important for

  • University admissions in India and abroad
  • Entrance exam eligibility
  • Scholarship applications

Parents and students are now waiting for CBSE to issue clarity on revised exam dates or evaluation policy.

What Students Should Do Now?

Students affected by CBSE Middle East exam changes are advised to

  • Continue preparing for exams in case they are rescheduled.
  • Stay updated through official CBSE notices.
  • Keep in contact with their school administration for updates.
  • Avoid relying on social media rumours.
