WBCHSE Issues Guidelines for HS Exam 2026: Reporting Time, Admit Card & Exam Rules Announced

West Bengal Council will conduct Uccha Madhyamik (Higher Secondary) Class 12 Exams 2026 for Semester 4, Semester 3 Supplementary and the old annual system from February 12 to February 27, 2026. West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education (WBCHSE) has issued 2026 Higher Secondary Examinations Guidelines for Semester-IV, Semester-III Supplementary Examination and the Higher Secondary Examination under the Old System.

The WBCHSE 2026 guideline contains detailed instructions for examination centres, admit card, invigilators and examinees, including reporting time, opening of question packets, seating arrangements, items allowed inside the examination hall and handling of OMR sheets.

WBCHSE Admit Card 2026 Instructions

West Bengal Council will conduct Uccha Madhyamik (Higher Secondary) Class 12 Exams 2026 for Semester 4, Semester 3 Supplementary and the old annual system from February 12 to February 27, 2026.

According to guidelines admit cards for Semester-IV and Semester-III Supplementary Examination 2026 will be issued through online mode only. Heads of institutions can download and print the 2026 exam admit cards from the Council’s portal using their login credentials.

For the Higher Secondary Examination 2026 under the Old System, admit cards will be issued offline from distribution camps on January 28, 2026.

Examinees will be permitted to enter the examination hall only with a valid admit card countersigned by the Head of the Institution. Candidates must also carry their registration certificate along with blue or black ballpoint pens.

West Bengal Board Semester-IV, Semester-III Supplementary Exam Reporting Time

Students appearing for Semester-IV and Higher Secondary Examination under the Old System are required to report to the examination venue by 9.00 am. Candidates of the Semester-III Supplementary Examination must report by 12.30 pm.

The guidelines states that saled question packets will be opened inside the examination hall at 9.55 am for the morning session and 12.55 pm for the second session. Distribution of question papers will begin at 10.00 am and 1.00 pm, respectively.

Items Allowed and Prohibited

The guidelines prohibit examinees from carrying mobile phones, smart watches, Bluetooth devices, electronic gadgets, bags, calculators, written or printed material into the examination hall.

Only analogue watches are permitted. Examinees may carry transparent water bottles and essential stationery in a transparent pouch.

Use of gel pens or fountain pens for filling OMR sheets is not allowed. Only blue or black ballpoint pens can be used.

Seating Arrangement and Venue Instructions

It states that seating plan must follow an ‘S’ pattern based on roll numbers, with not more than two examinees on each bench.

Candidates appearing under the Old System must be seated in separate rooms and should not be allotted seats in the same room with Semester-IV examinees. Examinees from two different institutions should not be mixed at the same venue except under unavoidable circumstances.

The Council has also advised that male examinees should not be allotted seats in girls’ schools.

Special Provisions and 2026 WBCHSE Examination

Children with Special Needs (CWSN), including those requiring writers or interpreters, and sick examinees must be accommodated in separate rooms with proper invigilation.

If an examinee is unable to produce the admit card on the first day of examination, the candidate may be provisionally allowed to appear after submitting a written undertaking. Failure to produce the admit card on the following day will result in cancellation of the examination.

OMR sheets must be handled carefully and should not be folded, torn, wetted or dirtied, as this may lead to cancellation. No rough work is permitted on the OMR sheet.
