Will the TS EAMCET exam be cancelled? The Telangana Education Commission propose major reforms in the state education system. One of the recommendations includes scrapping the state engineering entrance exam. Know the major reforms and changes in the Telangana state education policies discussed in the meeting held recently.
TS EAMCET to Be Cancelled? Education Commission Proposes Changes in Telangana Engineering Admission
TS EAMCET 2026 registrations are ongoing. The last date to submit the application forms is set as April 4 without any late fee. With the state engineering entrance exam registration open now, there are slim chances that the exam will be cancelled for this academic session. However, recently, a meeting was held where the Telangana Education Commission submitted a report to Chief Minister Revanth Reddy. The report recommends cancelling the TS EAMCET exam. The report also proposes that state engineering admissions should be based on Class 12 marks.
However, no decision has been taken yet on the report. Apart from cancelling the TS EAMCET exam, the report also proposed the following:
- Cancellation of the Class 10 Board Exam. Boards should be held only in class 12.
- Introducing English as the medium of instruction from nursery to university level.
- Scrapping the Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) and restructuring the B.Ed programme into two streams - B.Ed (Primary) for Nursery to Class V and B.Ed (Secondary) for Classes 6th to 12th.
- Regulatory amendments to control IIT-JEE and NEET coaching centres and hostels.
Will TS EAMCET 2026 be Held?
Yes, currently, the proposal of cancelling TS EAPCET is under review and will take some time to come into effect. The report suggests many big reforms that will require time to put into action. As of now, the TS EAMCET application process is ongoing at eapcet.tgche.ac.in.
The exam for Agriculture & Pharmacy (A&P) will be held on May 4 and 5. On the other hand, the exam for Engineering (E) will be held on May 9 and 11. On each day, the exam will be held in two shifts in CBT mode - Forenoon from 09.00 AM to 12.00 Noon and Afternoon (AN) from 03.00 PM to 06.00 PM.
