The dates of the release of the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th AILET Merit List are given below.

• A PDF file has the AILET merit list will appear on your screen.
• Download the AILET 2026 merit list and save it for future reference.

AILET 2nd Merit List will be released on January 21. The candidates whose names or hall ticket number is not present in the first merit list can wait for the announcement of the other AILET merit list.

Candidates whose hall ticket numbers are present in the AILET First Merit List 2026 have to pay the Admission confirmation fee of INR 50,000 before January 14, 11 AM.

The seat allotment process in AILET counselling is done based on the candidate's rank and scores. After the results, Candidates are issued the merit list (Out soon) through the website, and then they need to make the fee payment before the deadline. Candidates had to pay before December 27, 2025, for AILET 2026 Counselling registrations.

The AILET counselling fee of INR 30,000 (INR for reserved category candidates) will be refunded only to candidates who have successfully registered for the counselling and paid the fee but who could not find a place in the merit list. The refund will be initiated by NLU Delhi to the source on completion of the admission process, whichever is earlier. 

The AILET admission process after the results are declared is as mentioned below: 

The process of calculating the rank is very simple as it depends on the marks you obtained in the AILET exam. Each question carries 1 mark and makes it a total of 150 marks. Now, the candidate scoring the topmost marks are given the ranks accordingly. Also, the no. of seats makes the ranks as well. The seats are also reserved and thus seats have to be distributed accordingly. Also, there may be candidates scoring same marks thus they share the same rank jointly. Also the exam is taken only for NLU Delhi thus there is no preference list as such and the candidates are given the seats based on their ranks. Also, a candidate leaving the seat shall make a vacancy for the waitlisted candidates. AiLET initially releases the provisional allotment list and waitlist. Apart from this, there is no formula as to calculate the ranks. Your marks define your rank and seat at NLU Delhi.

Based on the analysis provided, 80 is considered a good score in AILET. The expected cut-off range for AILET 2023 is between 72.75 and 73.5 marks, which means scoring 80 marks would place you in the top half of the merit list. However, please note that the actual cut-off may vary depending on various factors, and the competition is high. If you are from the unreserved category, an ideal score for NLU Delhi will be 120+.

As per the NLU Delhi official notice, Provisionally Selected Candidates (from 1st to 3rd Merit List) must pay the Provisional Admission Confirmation Fee of INR 50,000.00 within the timeframe, and the balance fee shall be paid by April 30, 2026. Failure to do so will result in cancellation of the provisional admission offer. No requests for extension will be entertained. The candidates selected in the 4th Merit List onwards will be required to pay the complete fee as per the schedule.

Candidates can check the status of their AILET Seat allotment by logging in to their AILET Candidate Portal 2026. In case, an NLU Delhi has rejected a seat allotted to a candidate in the previous seat allotment list, the status of the same can be checked too. In case their status still shows rejected, candidates must contact the university. Once the candidates chooses the EXIT option in the AILET seat allotment 2026, they will not be allowed to participate in other rounds of seat allotment. 

NLU Delhi will release the merit list for each round of counselling, and candidates will be assigned seats based on their ranking in the AILET 2026 merit list. The AILET 2026 merit list PDF will include the names of applicants who have been provisionally assigned seats at the university. To confirm their admission, selected candidates must pay a provisional admission confirmation fee of INR 50,000. The fee must be paid between January 8 and January 14. 

After the AILET merit list is released, selected candidates must submit a provisional admission confirmation fee by the specified deadline. Failure to do so will result in the cancellation of the admission offer, and the seat will be offered to the next candidate in merit order. Additionally, candidates who choose not to accept the offer will not be reconsidered under any circumstances.

No, National Law University, Delhi accepts admission in undergraduate and postgraduate law degree courses only through the All India Law Entrance Test examination. However, except for NLU, Delhi, and National Law University, Tripura, all other 23 National Law Universities accept the Common Law Admission Test scores for admission to their colleges. National Law University, Delhi, conducts a separate exam known as the All India Entrance Test.

The NLU Delhi will release the AILET 2026 first merit list today at 6 pm on the nationallawuniversitydelhi.in. Once the merit list is released, the AILET cut-off 2026 will also be revealed.

Even though NLU Delhi is a National Law University, it is not a part of the Consortium of NLUs. All the NLUs in India have been granted the status by the University Grants Commission (UGC). Thus, there is no major difference in the courses offered at NLU Delhi as compared to the other National Law Universities. However, the NLU Delhi offers admission to is BA LLB and LLM program through the AILET entrance exam.

The National Law University Delhi accepts AILET scores for admission to the BA LLB (Hons) course. According to the previous year's fourth cutoff list, the AILET score stood at around 65 to 66 for the BA LLB (Hons) course. During the round 1 cutoff, the BA LLB (Hons) score was 62 for the General AII India category candidates. So, considering the round 1 and round 4 cutoff, the minimum score required in AILET is 60 to get a seat in the BA LLB (Hons) course for the General category students under the AI Quota.
