TANCET 2026 Exam Tomorrow; Effective Negative Marking Strategy for Exam Day
Anna University will conduct TANCET 2026 tomorrow for MBA and MCA admissions. Check the effective strategy to avoid negative marking in TANCET exam tomorrow.
TANCET 2026 exam for MCA and MBA programs is scheduled to be administered tomorrow, May 9, 2026. The MCA exam will be conducted in the morning session from 10:00 AM to 12:00 NOON, while the MBA exam is set for the afternoon session from 02:30 PM to 04:30 PM. Besides preparing for all exam sections, having an effective exam day plan is important to achieve a good score in TANCET exam.
Understanding how to navigate the negative marking system may change final scores in TANCET exam. The TANCET 2026 exam has a marking pattern where candidates earn one mark for every correct answer, but face a penalty of 0.25 marks for every incorrect response. A deduction of even 0.25 marks can impact a candidate's overall performance and may reduce their chances of securing admission into top-tier colleges via TANCET. Candidates must prioritise accuracy over the total quantity of questions answered.
To minimise negative marking, candidates should start with answering questions from subjects they are most confident in. To eliminate negative marking, going through both questions as well as answer options is important. If a candidate lacks knowledge on a particular question or is confused among options, the advised strategy is to skip the question entirely and leave it blank. Random guessing may result in unnecessary mark deductions.
Commonly asked questions
TANCET MBA exam has 5 sections. All sections have an equal weightage. With a total of 100 questions, each section has 20 questions in MCQ format.
The authorities at the TANCET exam centre will not allow any late comers to appear in the TANCET exam. Applicants appearing for the exam are advised to arrive at test centre at least 60 minutes before the exam commencement time. Officials at the TANCET exam centre check the identity of the candidates before allowing them to enter the test location. Candidates should enter inside the TANCET exam centre before the GATE closing time. Besides the late entry, officials at the exam centre do not allow the candidates to leave the exam centre before the schedule time of exam conclusion.
Candidates must refrain from carrying any electronic devices to the TANCET exam hall. Items like smartwatches, mobile phones, calculators, pagers, and Bluetooth devices are strictly banned. Only the admit card, a valid photo ID, and basic stationery are allowed.
Guesswork should only be applied smartly. Candidates should make an educated guess only when they can successfully use the elimination technique to rule out wrong choices, narrowing the possibilities down to just two options. Furthermore, candidates are advised against making last-minute guesses.
Finally, candidates must ensure filling the OMR answer sheet correctly to prevent accidental mark loss. Candidates are required to use only a black ballpoint pen for shading. Shading multiple options for a single question or striking out an answer to shade a new one will not be accepted by the system.
