Nashik Municipal Corporation is all set to recruit nearly 40 teaching faculty members including the dean for its proposed medical college.

For the proposed PG medical college of Nashik Municipal Corporation, the corporation has decided to recruit around 40 teaching faculty members which also including the college's dean.

Nashik Municipal Corporation superintendent Dr Babusaheb Nagargoje has said that once the proposal gets approval from the National Medical Commission, Nashik Municipal Corporation will start hiring professors, assistant professors etc for the PG medical college, as reported by TOI.

"The civic body and the private medical college in Nashik city have reached an understanding on this issue. We will be signing the formal agreement shortly," said Dr Nagargoje.

As per reports, the corporation health department sources said that the civic body has planned to intake nearly 28 students every year for its diploma and degree courses in around 10 disciplines including gynaecology, orthopaedics, medicine, surgery and others.

Nashik Municipal Corporation starts preparing for the monsoon season

The corporation and the district administration have started work on preparing for the monsoon season. The concerned departments have been directed to carry out pre-monsoon works of cleaning drainage lines, stormwater lines and nullahs.

MUHS tells medical students to complete internship in own colleges

Maharashtra University of Health Sciences (MUHS) has asked the medical students to complete their mandatory internship in the hospitals attached to the colleges from where they are pursuing their MBBS course.

“After the new gazette on compulsory rotating medical internships regulations was declared by the NMC, the same was discussed in the academic council of the MUHS. As per the decision taken, all medical colleges are informed that the process of changing the medical college for internships which was allowed as per the amendments in the academic notification in 2012 will now be stopped for degree courses. This will be applicable from the date of the circular,” reads the MUHS circular.
